When coal is extracted from the ground, a lot of dust and coal particles are emitted and then many people get respiratory illnesses.

When oil is transported in ships, a few ships can have oil spills, because of this, too many fish and birds die.

When oil is drilled, miners use too much water, this water ends up polluted, besides, the drilling pollutes the groundwater, due to this  too many animals and people that depend on this water are affected.

When the industrial waste from the extraction of oil is dumped on the soil, it loses its fertility because the waste contains too many chemicals that alter the composition of the soil.
