CAUSE-EFFECT.

CAUSE
EFFECT
Pneumonic diseases increased.

Many children died due to respiratory diseases.
Coal was burned and it produced toxic gases.
The planet is affected by global warming.
Factories polluted rivers and canals with sewage and industrial waste.
Many fish died from the pollution of their habitat.
57.000 people were killed by the cholera epidemic.
The world's cities were put on alert to control the epidemic.

Emissions from coal-powered plants resulted in acid rain.
Acid rain affect soil fertility by erosion.

COLOMBIA SUPERSTITION

  • If you put some money in your pockets, you will have money all year long.

  • If you wear yellow panties, you will have good luck.

  • If you take a shower with rue, you will get rid of bad luck.

  • If you pass under a ladder, you will have bad luck.

  • If you keep beans on the table, you will have food to eat.

  • If you sweep someone's feet, that person won't get married.

  • If you kill a black cat, you will have bad luck.

  • If you get up on the left side of the bed, you will have a bad day.

POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE CONSECUENCES.

  • If we take care of the forests, we will preserve the ecosystem of our country.

  • If we do not stop the vehicle pollution, global warming will increase.

  • If we stop deforestation in Colombia, the balance of the ecosystem will not be affected.

  • If we continue using pesticides, the soil erosion will increase.

  • If we do not cut the trees , the oxygen will increase.

POLLUTION FROM COAL AND OIL IN COLOMBIA

COAL
OIL
Soil pollution
Air pollution
Water pollution
Soil pollution
Water pollution

1. How does coal pollute the soil?

When coal is extracted from the ground, miners remove a lot of soil, then the soil loses its fertility, and after that we have soil erosion.

2. How does coal pollute the air?

When coal is extracted from the ground, a lot of dust and coal particles are emitted and then many people get respiratory illnesses.

3. How does coal pollute the water?

When coal is extracted from the ground, too much water is used to mine it, then that water is polluted because they use a lot of heavy metals.

4. How does oil pollute the water?

When oil is transported in ships, a few ships can have oil spills, because of this, too many fish and birds die.

When oil is drilled, miners use too much water, this water ends up polluted, besides, the drilling pollutes the groundwater, due to this  too many animals and people that depend on this water are affected.

5. How does oil pollute the soil?

When the industrial waste from the extraction of oil is dumped on the soil, it loses its fertility because the waste contains too many chemicals that alter the composition of the soil.
